OSN 1500 is a new-generation optical transmission system developed by Huawei. It adopts a unified switching architecture and can function as an MPLS-based packet device or a TDM device. When working with other devices of Huawei, OSN 1500 supports various networking modes, including the pure packet mode, hybrid networking (packet + TDM) mode, and pure TDM mode, achieving optimal processing for packet services and traditional SDH services. Thus, OSN 1500 efficiently transmits voice, data, storage, and video services over the same platform.

OptiX OSN 1500 intelligent optical transmission system inherits all the features of the MSTP technology, maintaining compatibility with traditional SDH, MSTP network, financial SDH, PDH, Ethernet, WDM, ATM, ESCON, FC / FICON,the DVB-ASI (Digital Video Broadcast- Asynchronous Serial Interface), RPR technologies such as one of a new generation of integrated 2.5G/622M multiservice optical transport platform (MSTP), mainly used in the metro network access layer for existing SDH equipment to intelligent optical network equipment The transitional provides the perfect solution. Mainly used in highway access network communications systems.
The OptiX OSN 1500 intelligent optical transmission system (the OptiX OSN 1500 for short) developed by Huawei is the next-generation intelligent optical transmission equipment.
The OptiX OSN 1500 is of a “universal switch” architecture. That is, the OptiX OSN 1500 can be used in packet mode or in TDM mode. When used with the other equipment of Huawei, the OptiX OSN 1500 supports various networking applications, such as the pure packet mode application, hybrid networking application (overlay networking of the packet mode and TDM mode), and pure TDM mode application. By using a proper networking solution, the data service and conventional SDH service can be processed in the optimal manner.

Equipment Structure
The OptiX OSN 1500A and OptiX OSN 1500B are case-shaped equipment. The OptiX OSN 1500A subrack and OptiX OSN 1500B subrack can be installed in a 300 mm ETSI cabinet, a 600 mm ETSI cabinet, a 19-inch cabinet, or on the wall. In addition, the OptiX OSN 1500A can be installed on the desk.
